In commercial dry ice production, system stability depends directly on the delivery pressure and thermodynamic state of the inbound liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2). Fluctuating supply pressures or premature phase changes in feed lines cause severe production drops, irregular block density, and wasted raw material.
Shuliy Machinery designs and manufactures the SL-LCT Series, a dedicated lineup of vacuum-insulated pressure vessels built to bridge the gap between cryogenic bulk supply and continuous dry ice production. Ranging from mobile 175-liter units to 1000-liter skid-mounted microbulk stations, these vessels maintain saturated liquid CO2 at steady working pressures, providing an uninterrupted feed for industrial operations.
Engineering Features of the Shuliy Liquid CO2 Storage Tank
The Shuliy SL-LCT series features a dual-vessel design: an austenitic 304 stainless steel inner pressure container housed inside a durable carbon or stainless steel outer jacket.

1. High-Vacuum Multilayer Insulation
The annular space between the inner and outer vessels is packed with multilayer cryogenic insulation paper and high-efficiency radiation shielding foil, evacuated to a vacuum level below 1×10−2 Pa. This construction holds the daily static evaporation rate to less than 1.2% to 1.8% of total capacity, preventing product venting during non-operational shifts.
2. Independent Phase Extraction Manifold
Each vessel features color-coded, labeled handwheels to prevent operator error:
- LIQUID Valve (Blue): Connects to a full-length stainless steel dip tube reaching the sump of the vessel, extracting subcooled liquid without vapor contamination.
- GAS Valve (Red): Opens directly to the top head space for pressure equalization or gas-phase purge cycles.
3. Integrated Pressure-Building Circuit
When liquid is drawn rapidly, internal vessel pressure naturally drops. The SL-LCT series incorporates an external copper or stainless steel vaporization coil mounted to the base. Liquid flows into this loop, flashes into vapor via ambient air exposure, and routes back to the top gas space, automatically holding discharge pressure between 1.35 and 2.5 MPa without requiring external power.

Note: The effective liquid weight is calculated based on the density of liquid carbon dioxide under saturated storage conditions, which is approximately
0.89–0.92 kg/L. We offer custom-designed ultra-high-pressure specialty vessels with pressures up to 3.45 MPa.
Engineered Cryogenic Infrastructure for Your Facility
The profitability of your dry ice plant depends directly on the reliability of your gas supply. Investing in a Shuliy Liquid CO2 Storage Tank stabilizes line pressure, eliminates moisture contamination, and maximizes the conversion efficiency of your downstream presses.
Contact our technical sales team with your target dry ice hourly output. We will specify the correct tank volume, pressure rating, and piping layout to keep your production operating smoothly.
To maximize plant efficiency and simplify equipment sourcing, the Shuliy SL-LCT Series is engineered for direct plug-and-play integration with our complete downstream manufacturing catalog. Whether your facility operates a standalone dry ice pellet machine to produce 3mm blast cleaning media, runs a high-pressure dry ice block machine for dense airline catering slices, or deploys a fully automated dry ice briquette production line with continuous flow-wrapping, our cryogenic storage vessels maintain the exact thermodynamic conditions required by each unit. This synchronized setup eliminates pressure drops across interconnecting feed lines, ensures steady hydraulic cycling, and provides an integrated single-source infrastructure for your entire production floor.
